Extraordinary Women Exceptional Lives

January 3, 2019

The world is a convoluted place filled with discrepancies brought about by religious differences, socio-economic hardships, gender misunderstandings, indulgence, decadence, sexual and financial pressures. Either we have too much or too little; our lives are too full or too empty; we are under medicated or over medicated; we are too young or too old. We are saturated with advertising aimed at our bathrooms, bedrooms, boardrooms, cars and airspace suggesting what we should wear, eat, buy, smell, enjoy, look like, ship with and drive in.

There is an onslaught of pencil-thin, drop-dead gorgeous models in every skin care or make-up ad or dripping off billboards like honey, selling everything from perfume to pancakes. You know that you can't be too thin or too rich, but you don't know why. All you are really certain of is that you never have enough time just to be yourself. You never have enough time to do the things that make you happy. But then, you don't really know what would make you happy in the first place. You have heard the words do what you love to do and the money will follow but then what you love to do doesn't compute to having money. What you really think you would love to do is take pictures of wild animals or travel around the world in search of some lost city and how can you make money doing that?

It is into this quagmire we place ourselves, our partners and our families. We spend many of our waking hours awash with decisions and dilemmas most of which we are ill- equipped to resolve. It seems that advice is only there for the very young or the very old and infirm. Madison Avenue keeps hitting you in the face with the luxurious, irreverent thought that forty is new thirty. They want you to believe that the world is your oyster, that you are the new thirty and that you can do anything you set your mind to doing and you can do it now. So why are you so stuck? Why do you have such a hard time making choices or decisions and acting on those decisions? Why are you in a stagnant relationship or no relationship? Why are you unhappy most of the time? Medicating isn't really working or maybe it's working too well and you are wedged in a continuous pattern of confusion and never facing the truth of your life.

Have you entertained the possibility that the perception of your world is just that, a perception and not the true picture of what your life is really like? It's time to make a real assessment of where you are vs where you want to be. A subtle shift in attitude or behavior can change your life. There is no better time than now to take charge. Stop feeding the ego and start nourishing your self-esteem and self-worth. It is time to empower yourself and have a full understanding of who you are, what you need, want, deserve and can have. You don't need Madison Avenue to tell you that you are an incredible woman, you already know it!

There has never been a better time for women to assert themselves, recognize who and what they are and to challenge the self to rise to a place for its highest potential for growth and greatness. You are an individual, unique, exceptional, one of a kind and there is no one else exactly like you.

Stop settling for less than what you deserve. Always accept the best and never compromise. Recognize the you within, claim it, own it and then BE IT! For every action that you take for you, there will be a reaction so even the slightest change in attitude, perception, response, or reaction will begin the process of renewal and regeneration of your life.

This is a really good article.
